jugs and bottles "Head in the Clouds"
New York City, the largest city in the United States, is responsible for massive amounts of trash production. In just one hour, 53,780 used plastic bottles are thrown away in NYC alone. To demonstrate this shocking number, artist Jason Klimoski, created a giant cloud installation created from 53,780 plastic milk jugs and water bottles. The artist collected these plastic vessels and wove them together to create “Head in the Clouds.” It is a “pavilion people can walk into, sit inside, and contemplate just how much plastic is thrown away every day.” This cloud isn’t only beautiful and intriguing, but it also sends a powerful message about plastic consumption.
